Friends of the Terre Haute Masonic Temple

Protecting Our Past, Enriching Our Community

About Us

Friends of the Terre Haute Masonic Temple is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting one of Indiana’s historic treasures — the Terre Haute Masonic Temple.

Our work focuses on raising funds for essential care, restoration, and improvements, while also opening the Temple’s doors wider to the community for educational and cultural enrichment. Through advocacy, education, and events, we aim to ensure that this architectural landmark and the traditions it represents remain vibrant and accessible for generations to come.

Our Mission

Our mission at Friends of the Terre Haute Masonic Temple is to:

  • Support the care, restoration, and enhancement of the Terre Haute Masonic Temple.

  • Expand public and private access and utilization of the Temple.

  • Educate the public about the significance of historic structures and architectural preservation.

  • Promote awareness of the rich history of Fraternalism in the United States, Indiana, and Vigo County.

We believe that historic places connect us to our shared heritage and inspire future generations.

What We Do

We organize fundraising initiatives and direct resources toward critical maintenance, preservation projects, and thoughtful improvements of the Temple.

Public and Private Events:

We host and encourage events that bring the community into the Temple, from educational tours to cultural celebrations, making this historic space a living part of Terre Haute’s identity.

Educational Outreach:

We offer programs and materials to increase awareness about the importance of preserving historic architecture and understanding the role of Fraternal organizations in American history.
